The Goa Government has launched a new housing-and-land-rights scheme known as Majhe Ghar Scheme Goa, which means My Home. The behind launching this scheme is to recognise, regularise and grant legal rights to people who live in houses on state or community land. Basically, under this scheme, the government will give them official ownership rights through a document called a Class I Sanad. The main goal behind launching Majhe Ghar Scheme is to make sure that every Goan family can proudly say that the house they live in truly belongs to them. So this scheme fixes this problem. Also, through this scheme government wants to give legal ownership to people who live on government or comunidade land, Also to bring peace and security to people who fear eviction.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The house should be on government or comunidade land
  • The house must have been built before 28 February 2014

Detailed Fee Structure

The fees depend on when the house was built and where it is located.

On Government Land

  • Built before 1972 → ₹25 per square meter
  • Built between 1973–1986 → 50% of the official land rate
  • Built between 1987–2000 → 75% of the official land rate
  • Built between 2001–2014 → 100% of the official land rate

On Comunidade Land

  • Same as above, but with an extra 20% charge
